The 2024 ACCA Conference will be held in Orlando, FL, February 22-25, 2024!
Each year at the ACCA Conference a local organization is selected to support with a donation. This year Zebra Youth has been selected. Zebra Youth empowers LGBTQ+ youth to thrive by providing high quality, culturally appropriate programs designed to meet the unique needs of homeless and at-risk LGBTQ+ youth. There are two opportunities to support this initiative at this year's conference. We are selling the shirt pictured below for $30, all proceeds will be donated to the Zebra Youth organization. Your purchase of the Love Over shirt not only represents a stylish addition to your wardrobe but also symbolizes your commitment to equality and justice for all. We encourage all members who purchase this shirt, to wear it on Friday during the conference. We will also be taking donations during the business meeting on Friday during the conference. To order your shirt, please contact the ACCA Office with the size and quantity you would like to purchase.
Come Together: Advocacy and Community Through Adversity
The American College Counseling Association (ACCA) is hosting its 2024 annual conference in Orlando, Florida. Considering the current socio-political climate in the state of Florida, ACCA reaffirms the value of all individuals regardless of their social identities, experiences, and perspectives, particularly those that have been traditionally marginalized. We stand with our colleagues and with all LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC students, faculty and staff and all those whose identities face discrimination and oppression under harmful historical and current legislation. We are committed to nondiscrimination and to the prevention of harassment in all forms—verbal, physical, sexual, emotional, and psychological—including protections for LGBTQ+ and BiPOC individuals. The mission statement of ACCA emphasizes inclusiveness. With a focus on social justice and advocacy that includes political and social rights, ACCA will be in Orlando. We hope you will attend the conference and join us as we support those that are experiencing harassment, civil rights violations and/or bullying based on sexual/romantic orientation and gender identity.
