Call for Reviewers

Journal of College Counseling

The Journal of College Counseling invites applications for Reviewer positions on our editorial staff. We are seeking colleagues with strong familiarity in college counseling, academic writing, and/or research methods who are interested in contributing to the scholarly advancement of our field.

Position Overview

The Reviewer role is a three-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal for an additional three years based on mutual interest and continued alignment with the Journal's needs.

This is an unpaid professional service position.

Reviewers typically evaluate 8 to 16 manuscripts per year, depending on submission volume and areas of expertise.

Reviewers provide constructive, timely, and academically rigorous feedback to authors and collaborate with the editorial team to uphold the Journal's scholarly standards.

Qualifications

JCC is seeking reviewers who bring relevant professional, scholarly, and methodological experience to the editorial process.

Demonstrated experience in college counseling practice, counseling, or the training of counselors.
Familiarity with academic writing conventions.
Competence in research methodology, including qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods approaches.
Commitment to thoughtful, ethical, and constructive peer review.

A summary of qualifications relevant to the Reviewer role.
Contact information, including phone number, email address, and institutional affiliation.
Three to five keywords describing areas of interest or methodological expertise.

Selecting Your Keywords

Keywords may include topical interests, such as social justice or student athletes, or methodological specialties, such as qualitative methods or meta-analysis.

Keywords should be specific enough to help the editorial team identify your areas of expertise. Generic terms such as college students or counseling should not be used.
